‘Questions lead nowhere’

The puzzle I bought at a second hand shop turned out to be incomplete after I finished it. One piece was missing, which actually led me to the idea of the work you see here. The image of the puzzle got removed from all of the pieces, leaving nothing but the vague traces of paper and cardboard, giving a new appearance to the whole. I believe I spent more time tearing the image from all the pieces than actually solving the puzzle.
