‘Dying prospects’

This installation consists of a 4k video projection showing a realtime recording of a mountainside in Italy. The image lacks any sense of perspective and scale and little to no movement, as the sun can sometimes be seen coming through the clouds onto the landscape. Visitors of the space were given no sound from the video, as there was another sound present in the room, coming from the place of the actual projection.

Investigating the sound led the viewer towards the wall of the projection, the floor grinding beneath them. The image seemed to be draining, as there was sand flowing out of the wall and into the space, forming a small mountain in front of the projection.

The installation lasted 100 minutes, after which it was closed for a short period and reset.

‘Oropa’ & ‘Potsdam’

With these photographic studies I try to search for similar phenomena that are present in my installations and which convey a sense of time and scale in their own nature.
