‘Fabricated motion’

This installation was hidden out of sight, but could be experienced by simply walking over a field of grass. Placed underneath the grass, two spring mattresses would surprise visitors. The ground would suddenly sink under their weight.

The work was installed during a very hot and dry summer, so I watered it every day to try help the grass grow back better. Eventually things started growing quicker and better than the surrounding area. It was at this stage the work was removed by an unknown party and without my notice.

Thanks to the people who helped me install the work

‘In the pursuit of motion’

‘In the pursuit of motion’

This polaroid was taken in the National park ‘De Hoge Veluwe’, showing traces in the grass and moss of a vehicle, leaving behind ridges of a mountain range. A piece of tracing paper was placed on the polaroid, after which the ridges in the grass were traced.
